Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. - John 4:35 (ESV)

Farmers wait for their crops to grow, but when harvest time comes, harvesting the crop actually takes work and time. Let me say it like this, you may be in the middle of a blessing, but in order to see the results of it you may have to spend a little time working hard. It’s a blessing to reach a time and place where you see a crop that is ready to be harvested, but the fullness of the blessing is on the other side of the harvest.

I’m excited for you as you read this because chances are if you are reading these devotionals you are spending time with God and being obedient to His will the best you can. You are making an effort to move towards God. When we experience a blessing we don’t stop movi...

While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God. Hebrews 5:7 (NLT)

What if you could stop time? What would you do? Would you live in the moment or just exist? Don’t just survive, live and be aware of the moments that are before you. Jesus was never in a hurry and always lived in the moment. Never actually stopping time, but always being present in time. You don’t have to miss opportunities to share the good news about Jesus or help that friend that is hurting.

Live in the love of Christ and allow Him to clothe you with His peace and His grace. Then, you will be able to identify what is needed in the moments of life. Don’t be hurried by the clock of this world, instead withdraw and spend time with the Lord. Your...

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." - Matthew 4:19 (NIV)

Graduation is this weekend for all our seniors and a new chapter in life is starting, but there is one chapter that will always stay open and continue to be added to. That chapter is the story and the life of following Jesus. We may change schools or change grades, but God is always present and the same in our lives. We don't have to follow the changes in this world. We can stay in the story that Christ is writing about our lives.

Be a disciple that makes disciples. When your location and friends change don't let it change you. Be the change that those around you need. Go into the world, displaying the Light of Christ. I have seen too many young people adapt and change because their new friends influence them, or they go off to college and lose sight of Jesus. You...

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. - 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (NKJV)

Are weapons in spiritual warfare are prayer, faith, hope, love, God's Word, and the Holy Spirit. We aren't fighting against people, and our anger/frustration is not at or against people, but with the sin and the enemy that is controlling their life. We don't fight with fist and words of destruction. We are called to surrender these dark things of this world to Christ and point people to the love of Christ without compromising His truth. We are all unworthy of His love, but because of His grace, we prop Him...

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” - John 4:24 (NIV)

We go with what we know. We all have been raised by someone in a certain way and when we encounter something that we haven't experienced before. It challenges what we believe and even scares us. If someone lives their life differently than you do, but still serves Jesus, does that make the way they live wrong?

No, it doesn't because those that have surrendered their heart's to Jesus come from all different backgrounds and celebrate differently, but all are celebrating the same God. Worshippers must worship in Spirit and in truth. Don't limit Spirit and truth worship because of what you know based off of tradition or upbringing. Let God teach you what Spirit and in truth worship is.

Don't force what you feel on people you don't know. What they know may change how...

Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” - Mark 10:43-45 (NIV)

When people see you or hear you do they know that there is something different about you? Have they seen you show love to everyone that is around? Have you gone out of your way to help someone? Do you ever wonder what people see when they look at you? They may see Jesus in you and still not like you.

Jesus was different, and He stated that He came to earth to give His life as a ransom for many and serve people. People still hated Him and Jesus reminds that He was hated before us. When people persecute us, they are persecuting Him. Hope that today your day that your life looks different because y...

And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.” - Mark 2:22 (NIV)

Spring is all about growth. Flowers are popping up, the grass needs cut, and summer is almost here. We like the changing of the season in West Virginia, but what about the spiritual growth that is necessary for your life to change?

That can sometimes be painful. You don’t get wine without crushing grapes, and you don’t put new wine in old wineskins. What feels like crushing to you may be the production of new growth. We like the product, but not process. When you can endure and work through the process, you will then appreciate the product.

Don’t shut down like everyone else does at the end of the school year. Look at it as an opportunity to grow and create the c...

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. -Psalm 23:1-3 (NIV)

When we were little and starting to learn how to walk someone would steer us away from danger so we didn't hurt ourselves. We would stumble, fall, and someone would help us up. There were those times when we were finally walking that we walk towards something we shouldn't, like the stairs or a hot stove and our guardian kept turning us around to so we wouldn't harm ourselves. We would become frustrated and begin to cry and throw a fit because we didn't get what we wanted.

If the people in our lives know how to keep us out of trouble when we are little then God does the same thing in our whole lives. There is one e...

Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away. He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds. Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. -John 19:38-40 (NIV)

When they moved Jesus body, they bound His body under the arms and knees to the trunk of the cross, and the arms they fastened in the same way at the wrists. Then by striking upon strong pegs fixed against the points of the nails at the back of the cross, they forced out the nails from Jesus' hands, which were not very much shaken by the blows. The...

Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. John 19:34-45 (NIV)

When you accepted Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Savior His blood got on you. His blood actually washes over you. Can you imagine that day when they pierced Jesus side and His blood poured out, what literal power was in the blood of a perfect sacrifice? The power to wash away sin and death for all eternity. His dead body streamed the blood of life.

I don't know where you are at today in your walk with Jesus, and if we are honest, most days we treat our relationship with Him pretty casual. We go to Him when we need Him and forget about the redemptive work He did for us. Today, ta...

We believe the only life worth living is the “uncommon” life that results from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  We encourage our youth to experience this life through a daily time with Jesus,  worship, ministry, and prayer.
