“O God, You are  my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1

Can you read Psalm 63:1 and say that it applies to your personal life? Is Jesus your God? What is the first thing that you do when you wake up? What does it mean for “your soul to thirst for God”?

My phone is my alarm and when I wake up I am preprogrammed to open my phone and look at the news, youtube, and emails from work. It takes a conscious effort to turn off the alarm and set my phone down so that I can give thanks to God for another day, because every day we wake up is a gift from God and is not guaranteed just because we are young and seem healthy. God’s desire is for us to seek him and look for him to guide us in all things, and when we seek him early in the morning we are est...

"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30 NASB

When it comes to dating I certainly did not do myself any favors with decisions I made throughout high-school and even through college. I was a “serial dater” one relationship to the next leaving a trail of hurt feelings, anger, and a reputation of being something I did not want to be. I was not careful with who I made myself available too and I put myself in situations where I had no chance of maintaining my spiritual integrity. After a broken engagement to a girl I had been with for several years I realized that I had to take a step back and reevaluate my dating priorities.

I had my dating priorities established in the order much like Proverbs 31:30. I looked for a girl with charm and beauty first, then if she had a relationship with Jesus it was li...

"So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7 (NLT)

Have you ever seen a house that was absolutely infested with cockroaches? They will crawl into every crevasse and hole where they will breed, multiply, and overrun the owner. When the owner turns on the lights, the cockroaches will scatter to find a hiding place, so they aren’t discovered. The only way the owner can get rid of the roaches is to call an exterminator and over several treatments, the roaches will eventually be killed off.

The devil is a lot like cockroaches. He works in the dark quietly, so that you do not notice him crawling around behind the cabinets or inside the wall, and suddenly one day you are overrun. The devil, much like roaches, will scatter when he is exposed to the light. He cannot stay in the light because he knows that if seen, we will wa...

I have made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.” - Job 31:1 (NIV)

“Don’t take your eyes off the ball!” It is the first thing we are told when we start learning how to play sports. If you aren’t focused on what the goal is you will miss it. The same principles are true when you examine your personal relationship with God. When we take our eyes off of what’s really important we miss the goal.

Looking at someone lustfully devalues them by turning them into an object we worship with our eyes, and is the side product of a bigger issue which is not keeping our eyes on the goal. Jesus once said “If your eye is causing you to sin then pluck it out. It is better for you to enter heaven with one eye than have two eyes and go to hell.” Mk 9:47 His desire is not for us to go around blind because we cannot control the physical desires of our he...

We believe the only life worth living is the “uncommon” life that results from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  We encourage our youth to experience this life through a daily time with Jesus,  worship, ministry, and prayer.
