"Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage- with great patience and careful instruction."  2 Timothy 4:2 (NIV)

This verse comes from a letter written to Timothy from the Apostle Paul and he is speaking from his own experience with the world and God. This sums up in one sentence how we, as Christ followers, are to live each and every one of our days the way God wants us to. Go out and tell others about the God you follow, how He is the only way and truth. Don't keep that to yourself, that is selfish. God put us on this Earth to share the "good news;" He died for every person, not just those of us who are saved.

If you are sharing His word and living for Him people will notice and wonder what is wrong with you. "How does that person have so much joy?" "What is it about them that makes them so special and diffe...

"Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 21:13 (NIV)

Near the end of Paul's life, he knew he would be killed for preaching and living for Jesus Christ and people pleaded with him not to go to the places where he would be put to death. Paul was not living for his will but for God’s, and his service to God was not going be put on hold because people wanted to kill him. He knew that not even death couldn’t stop him from being with God.

What Jesus did for us is worth dying for. It saved our lives and we will never have to taste death; we can rest in God, even if it comes to someone taking our life for serving Him. Paul was not only willing to be bound up, but also dying for the name of Jesus. Man! Do you love God like that? That no matter wha...

Hebrews 10:25- And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. (NLT)

To ignore Christian meetings is to give up the encouragement and help of other Christians. We gather to strengthen our faith and to build up one another in the Lord. Christ will return sooner than we know and until that day there will be struggles, hardships, and even times of persecution. The enemy will rise in force, but difficulties are no reason for us not gather as the body of Christ. The Church must stay together. Life can be difficult, but that’s no excuse to throw in the towel and stay at home feeling sorry for ourselves. Our faith needs to be strengthened, and as we stay together, we rally around Christ. We all need our faith to be growing continually. Being a part of a local church...

"So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ." Romans 10:17 (NLT)

This verse has been misinterpreted many times. Many people have used it to say that to grow your faith, just keep exposing yourself to the Word. But that is only a half-truth. The religious leaders of Jesus' day - the Pharisees - knew God's Word inside and out, and yet Jesus chided them as unspiritual and ignorant of God's will. He said to them, "You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!" (John 5:39).

Jesus was teaching them and us that Bible knowledge alone doesn't lead to eternal life, but a genuine encounter and ongoing relationship with Him does. Eternal life and transformation don't come about by some ethereal force but through a person, the God-man Jesus Christ. He says that He gives eternal life. Our...

Colossians 3:16-Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. (NIV)

We live in a society that likes to water down scripture and alter the fullness of the Word. If we have come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, we should be participating in active ministry. Sharing the Good News about Jesus and how His sacrifice gives us the option to have eternal life through Him must be a part of who we are. “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach.” That has to mean something to us. We can’t just passively read this verse and not make a move to share the importance of Christ. It is a life or death situation. Don't let the Word of God be watered down to fit your liking. “Let the message of Chri...

“May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:10 (NLT)

Have you ever really stopped and thought about what that means? In life when things are going right, and in the direction you want, it's easy to say this verse as part of The Lord’s Prayer. What about when life does not go so smooth? What happens when there is chaos in your life, an unplanned event happens, a sickness, or death in your family. What about when God’s plan is not your plan? When God asks us to get out of our our little world, our comfort zone, and make bigger sacrifices? Now, praying that part of the Lord's Prayer takes on a possible completely different meaning doesn't it. We may say “but God that is not what I want. That is what you want, but not what I want.” Jesus himself faced his own will versus The Father’s Will. Jesus prayed and asked Go...

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Have you ever felt like no one else was looking out for you or thinking about how you presently are doing? I know there have been times in my life, especially when I was a teenager, where I thought, “I’m the only one looking out for me.” Because of this, I would feel alone and misunderstood.  In our scripture, God says, “I know the plans I have for you”.  Inwardly we respond, “really?” and then ask, “what kind of plans? I’m not sure I will like your plans.” But in Psalm 139:13-16, we see that God created us, and He did so with a specific plan in mind.  He designed us, like a computer programmer designs programs, to operate and function in a certain way so that tasks and goals can be accomplished....

"Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus...and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood— may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ,

every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21 (NLT)

So often, because of our weaknesses and failures, we believe God can't use us. We believe that we are just not talented enough, smart enough, or popular enough. My question to that line of thinking is, where did we get such ideas? Who told us those things? Oh, that's right, finite, broken people who believe the very same things about themselves. Sorry about the sarcasm.

When it comes to accomplishing God's will, we should listen to the God who fashioned us perfectly because only He has the ability to perform it. Now, of course,...

Jeremiah 29:11-For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV)

I have always drawn to those who are living out a genuine faith in Christ and curious of how they pray and study the Word. We are all attracted to people that are living differently to a certain extent. In college one of my teammates who’s football locker was beside mine, always lived out his faith and it was evident to see. One day early on in our friendship I asked him what his favorite Bible verse was and he said Jeremiah 29:11 and he quoted it to me. Ever since that day I have carried Jeremiah 29:11 along in my heart as a reminder of how much God cares for me. God’s will is perfect, and He desires to see us prosper and have hope in a bright future. Our desires and dreams may not always match up with G...

"I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NLT)

What advice would you give to a young pastor? The wise Apostle Paul told a young pastor named Timothy to "First of all" - PRAY. By saying "First of all," Paul is saying, "The most important thing." Why is praying so important to God? When we pray we are partnering with God to supernaturally change the hearts of people who are lost.

If you are a Jesus Follower, someone was crying out to God on your behalf. Because someone took the time to pray, God did a work in your heart through t...

We believe the only life worth living is the “uncommon” life that results from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  We encourage our youth to experience this life through a daily time with Jesus,  worship, ministry, and prayer.
