What is Your Life...?
"And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." John 17:3 (NIV)
People often ask, "What is life about?" Many people will give many different answers. Jesus gives us the clear, unapologetic reason. To know (in the Greek, this means to have relationship) God and Jesus. Jesus' death on the cross made the way for us to have this relationship with the Father. And it is from this relationship that we experience purpose, fulfillment, peace, and joy. How about you, are you experiencing a lasting peace and joy? If the answer is no, it may be because you are living like the things of this world are what life is about. You know, a boyfriend, girlfriend, video games, sports, activities, and grades. All these things are good (probably except the boyfriend/girlfriend at this stage in your life), but when we pursue these things like they are all that matters, we experience a huge void. If people were to look at your life, what would they say you live for? I will tell you, we all make time for what really matters. You have worked hard at times, and so have I, to rearrange your schedule to do something that really mattered to you. When was the last time you rearranged your schedule to do something with Jesus and for Jesus. Something that had eternal value, like church, youth meetings, Bible reading, prayer, mission trips, and things similar. If you are reading this and you are saying, I'm not quite there yet, than ask Jesus to forgive you and to touch your heart and change your desires. If you are there, but have been letting your relationship with Jesus take second place, ask for forgiveness, and ask Jesus to make the necessary adjustments in your life so that you experience the "Eternal Life" (relationship with Jesus) that Christ died for you to have. What is one way you can rearrange you calendar so you may experience and live the "Eternal Life" God desires for you?
