"And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Philippians 4:8 (NLT)
We are all tempted to either look at or say something we shouldn't on social media. We have liked a video on twitter that’s ignorant, or we have favorited something on Facebook that puts someone down. It’s the world we live in that wants us to not only like it but live like it. For almost all of us, social media is somehow a part of our lives, but it doesn’t have to control our lives. I know that some young people base their popularity off of likes and retweets. It is time for a change this summer; fix your thoughts on what truly matters and is honorable in Gods eyes. Let your thoughts be right, pure, and lovely. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise from God’s perspective. If you’re going to use social media, let the things you post be admirable as God would want it to be. Pray that social media would be a tool to bring glory to God this summer, and if it’s nothing but a distraction ask God to remove it so you can see Him more clearly.
