What Would You Like?
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12 (NIV)
Have you ever struggled and wondered what God’s will was for a certain situation? We all have. And because all of us are at different levels of growth and understanding in our walk with Jesus, Jesus is making things simple for us. Instead of giving us more to think about and making following Him more confusing, He gives us less and makes it easy. Religion will always attempt to make things confusing and more difficult, but Jesus desires for us to succeed in our relationship with Him and others, so He makes it clear. If you run into a circumstance that leaves you questioning what to do, just ask yourself, “What would I desire of a person in the same situation. How would I feel loved, appreciated, respected, considered, and noticed? What would allow me to see and experience Jesus through their actions and words?” Than act accordingly. Remember, your answer will always honor two parties, Jesus and the person involved. If your answer only honors one out of the two, it is the wrong answer. Saying “yes” to sexual pressure, so you don't offend your boyfriend or girlfriend neither honors them or Jesus. But, saying no to them, even though they may be offended, honors them and Jesus; and you by the way. I think you get the point. So, in EVERYTHING, do what honors Jesus and others. It will lead to less regret in your life, and will lead others to experience the love of Christ in theirs.
