Acts 2:37-40 - Verse 40: With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”
I can remember in middle school and high school, I always loved giving my friends advice with their problems, but most of the time didn’t really care to hear their advice when I was struggling with something myself. Peter gives great advice in chapter two of Acts when he says, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation”. Helping others is a great thing, but it doesn't get us to heaven; that all starts with saving yourself. We have to first commit our own life to Christ before we can ever help this corrupt generation that we live in. Save yourself first, and then, if you want to give a friend advice, lead them to Christ. We love to give relational advice and talk about who to be friends with, but that won’t save lives, only a conversation about Jesus can lead to that. Today make sure you’re saved yourself, then talk about Jesus.
