"The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, "Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome." Acts 23:11
The Lord came to Paul and said this right after the commander had taken Paul before the Sanhedrin to find out why Paul was being accused by the Jews. The Jews went into an uproar after Paul told them his story of salvation and they didn't believe him, deeming him "unfit to live". Even after he was arrested, taken to be flogged, and told to be struck by the high priest, Paul continued to speak of God and tell about the resurrection. This is what we are called to do; tell people about God no matter the situation or circumstances. We as Jesus followers have been sent to go and make disciples, which is exactly what Paul was doing. Paul had nothing to lose because he knew everything he had to gain by being a Jesus follower, as do we. Don't be ashamed of the gospel, but be bold and go out and strike up conversations with people. Paul did as he was told and God told him "as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify about me in Rome." He will use you as He did Paul, if you have a willing heart. Pray that God gives you boldness and a willing heart as you go through your days making disciples.
