Acts 27:23-25- Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.’ So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.
Paul kept his faith in Christ no matter what the world threw at him. I can’t imagine how hard it must have been to know that your death was coming and you could avoid it, but you knew that God was calling you to stand for Him even if that meant death. Paul was completely surrendered to God and lived for Him alone. Is your life lived for Christ alone? No matter where you are and no matter who you’re with, does God remain first in you life? If God is not first in your life, it makes it hard to stand for Him when life sends obstacles and difficult times your way. Making God first in your life not only creates a greater relationship with Him, but it creates a habit that strengthens your faith in Him. As your faith is strengthened, you can stand like Paul, no matter what the world wants from you.
