A Prideful Fall
Proverbs16:18- Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.
Proud people will never take the time to recognize their weaknesses or even anticipate that they may stumble. They think that they are above the problems of ordinary citizens. Most of the time people with pride issues never see that their pride is an issue. To me, pride breeds unhealthy competition between friends, co-workers, and teammates. People are always trying to one-up each other. It gives the impression that I’m better than you are. That doesn’t build unity or make you want to work with people or be friends with them. Don’t tell me what you did, tell me what we can do together. People will notice your success you don’t have to talk about it. Making yourself sound better than you are leads to a hard fall when we do stumble and land on our face. Don’t be prideful about yourself. How will you ever learn more or change if you already think your the best? Be selfless and build unity with those around you, not a mountain of pride that only you can stand on. Trust me, you will fall and when you do no one will be around to help you up.
