1 Samuel 16:7- But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (NIV)
What a blessing it is to know that God doesn’t look at us the way people look at us. God always loves us. He clothes us with His righteousness. He covers us in His image, and when He looks at us, He see’s Christ in us. We bear the image of Christ. Nothing can separate us from His love. He loves us unconditionally and see’s the best things in us that we are yet to see ourselves. God isn’t looking to see your best outfit. He is always observing your heart and accepts you as you are. We serve a God that doesn’t judge a book by its cover, but instead, He molds us and makes us from the inside, out. Don’t give all your attention to your physical appearance when God is looking at your heart. Being pretty doesn’t give us eternal life. Having a surrendered heart that embraces the life of Christ saves us. Don’t desire the applause of people, but instead delight yourself in the Lord. He is looking at your heart.
