Psalm 46:10-He says, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
The first part of this verse has been put on my heart daily. I know that there is more that God wants to speak to us through this verse. Currently as I write this, I sit in a church that seats thousands of people. Yesterday, I experienced lasers, smoke machines, coffee everywhere, cell phone ringers going off, and feet shuffling quickly so bodies could find their seats. All sounds that make it evident that the world is still turning. In the midst of organized chaos, never under estimate the power that the presence of God can bring to any situation. A stir can be stopped and unity can be brought into one accord only by the anointing presence of God. “Be still and know that I am God.” All those sights and sounds that surrounded me came from within a church, and to the world’s eye it’s attractive, but I’m here for a different attraction. The presence of the Lord brings the “awe.” God, You are awesome. You have the ability to quicken the Spirit from worldly attraction to the awe of Your presence. You make the path straight, the vision clear, and God let us never forget You are more than an attraction, You are the savior of the universe. Man can try all that they want to manifest Your presence, but only You say it is done, and it’s done, only You heavenly Father. You are the way, the truth, and the life. You break down what we see as attraction and communion with You and make it perfect communion. You are awesome, God. Through it all, one thing continues to ring out to me. “Be still and know that I am God,” then you recognize me in all that You do. No matter the sights and sounds around you, can you be still and know that He is God.
