Spiritual Birthday

Matthew 4:4 - Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” (NIV)

When Jesus started His public ministry with the good news message, it spread rather quickly but only a few received it. If we are people that have received the good news about Jesus, then we have an obligation to share with those around us the same good news that we heard. The news that Jesus Christ is Lord. He went to the cross, died for our sins, and rose again so that we may have eternal life. Not everyone will go to heaven, but those who surrender their lives to live for Jesus will forever rest in heaven. You can say yes to Jesus today. Why is it that once we say yes to Jesus we have such a hard time sharing Him with other people? We want everyone to know when it’s our birthday and we hope they say something or get us a gift. So why wouldn’t we want everyone to know that Jesus saved our lives and we are going to live forever in heaven with Him. No offense, but I think forever in heaven is way more important than an earthly birthday that will surely pass away. Let me say it like this, your spiritual birthday can save people’s live but your earthly birthday most likely won’t. We should tell people about the day we said yes to Jesus. That’s a day worth celebrating. The Bible says, “People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Don’t delight in the things of this world but instead feast on the things that God has for you. Life is short, focus on what can save you forever. Share the good news about Jesus. It will save someone’s life.
