Healing and Forgiveness
"Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!” Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” Then the man got up and went home. When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man." Matthew 9:1-8
God has opened many doors in my life, but it has not been any one door that has completely defined my story. It’s all that He is that has healed me and forgiven me. He is at every turn giving us a choice and in every moment offering love and forgiveness. God has changed my life through His consistence and His persistence to gain a meaningful relationship with me.
God’s pursuit for our lives is unstoppable. It’s a love that we grow to know. There is no sickness or sin that He didn’t die for and overcome. His healing is not just one day, it’s everyday. He hasn't asked me to sprint in this marathon, instead He has created a pace that keeps me constantly moving towards Him.
I am different today than I was yesterday. Take heart, God is always with you. Make the decision to follow Him each and every day, and watch your life change. Praying today that my story will help you add to your story. It’s not what I have done, it’s what Christ has done in me and continues to do in every situation, every moment of every day.
Be open to His healing power and His forgiveness today.
