Philippians 1:4-6- In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Where is your confidence? Do you have confidence knowing that the work that God has started in you will be completed. For me, it is always exciting to see the start of new things in my life, especially when I know God is in them. It is so easy to become discouraged in the process because new things don’t always stay new, and they take time, effort, work, and upkeep. The product that will come from a new start may not be seen for years or even a lifetime. Saying yes to Jesus means a new life and a new start, but you won’t see heaven until the Lord calls you home.
We start with confidence and end with confidence because those are the times when its easy to see what is starting or what the results are. The in between place where confidence is needed most is where we fail to see that the Lord’s work is a work in progress. Just because you can’t see the change and the growth doesn’t mean that it isn’t happening. Confidence can be a constant in your life. If Jesus is a constant in your life, then you better believe the work He is doing in you will be completed. Don’t let anxious thoughts control you and doubts become your god. Be Confident because any work that God starts is never left unfinished.
