Salvation With Purpose
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Philippians 2:12-13 (NIV)
We all have to decide at some point on whether we believe in Jesus Christ or not. If we do then we should only fear one thing and that is God. We must make every effort to live for Him and glorify His name.
Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior means declaring with your life that Jesus died on the cross for your sin. By His death, burial, and resurrection you are forgiven of your sins, and are given the ability to live a surrendered life to Him.
Spending time with God through reading the Bible and praying allows us to act in order and to know Gods will. Living our lives to please God and worship Him makes our purpose for Him here on earth more clear.
Here’s a starting point for you. If you have accepted Jesus into your heart, then start spending time with Him. If you are spending time with Him, then start looking to share your faith with others around you. That is the purpose we all have to uphold if we are Jesus followers. Act orderly, knowing Gods will through spending time with Him, and sharing our faith with others fulfills God's purpose.
Lord Jesus, forgive me when I forget the reality of my salvation, and what it means to be saved and in a relationship with you. Truly help me to live out my faith in a way that honors you and encourages others. Amen
