Too Much Credit
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. - John 10:10 (NIV)
Are you facing something difficult or have you encountered something difficult? We all have and if you haven't yet, just hang in there struggle finds us all sooner or later. You have heard it said, "the struggle is real." I pray with and for many people every week and most of the time we are quick to suggest that the enemy has caused the struggle. We give the enemy too much credit. Please hear me on this! If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you fight from victory, not for victory. Because we fight from a place of victory already, we can’t be so quick to give the enemy credit.
I’m not dismissing the fact that the devil is real and does seek to kill, steal, and destroy, but what I’m saying is we feel that the devil is always coming against us. We give Him credit when we speak him into existence in our situations. If I’m reading this, I’m now asking myself the question if the enemy isn’t causing the struggle then who is? The answer is God. Yes, I said God. If God made everything comfortable in our life, how would we ever grow in our faith? God will frustrate our process to remind us of our priority and where He ranks among those priorities. God will not harm you. What Satan intends for evil, God makes for good. God will get your attention though.
Today we can't be so quick to give the devil credit over situations in our life. Spend time in prayer and ask (PRAYER) God to show you where in your faith He wants you to grow and to help you fight from victory in your battles over a defeated enemy.
