“Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34 (NLT)
It is in our nature to worry and plan ahead. We worry about what we’ll wear to school tomorrow or stress about our test that’s next week. We spend so much of our time today worrying about tomorrow, that we didn’t do anything that was right in front of us that day.
Today predicts your tomorrow. God is always standing right in front of you with opportunities to share His word or pour your whole self into something that in the end will glorify Him. We miss these opportunities worrying about something that is not guaranteed. Today is the only thing at this moment that is guaranteed, so pursue every opportunity.
This can be a hard concept to wrap your head around, I know it definitely was for me. This mindset is a change in perspective and for some could be a change of lifestyle. God’s got you, and whatever you’re worried about He already knows. Just give it to Him and I promise that it’s going to radically change your life! I encourage you today to just be present, keeping your eyes looking for where God is working around you and being in tune with the doors He’s opening for you today.
God, I pray that you would settle our worries that keep our eyes shifted off of you. Help us to be present in the moment, in tune with you and the work you are doing in us and through us today. Amen.
