From Trapped to Freedom
For the Lord is the Spirit, and whenever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. - 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NLT)
By trusting in God, we are loved, accepted, forgiven, and freed to live for Him. “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” You ever feel trapped by something? Like freedom isn’t even an option for you because you are so deep into a lifestyle or regret that you don’t feel loved, accepted, forgiven, or freed? We disqualify ourselves from experiencing freedom in Christ because of our thoughts about ourselves. We bury ourselves in the world and can’t uncover the freedom of Christ.
What are you trapped by? Pornography, a relationship that is solely based on sex, lying to your parents, anger, that you can’t control, frustration, you blame God for your families problems? Jesus died so you could give your wrong to Him, not bury yourself in it. When you gave your life to the Lord, you were accepted as you were. God is not asking you to change anything about yourself, He accepts you, say yes to Him in the midst of all that you are trapped by. It’s when we say yes to Him that the change begins.
You were loved by God before you knew Him, so why would He stop loving you if He loved you even before you knew Him. Nothing can separate you from the love of Christ unless you disqualify yourself from a love that will always remain. Freedom is available to you, so ask the Lord to rescue from the trap that is holding you in a spiritual prison. I’m not saying you won’t ever struggle with sin again, but because you have a relationship with Jesus you can now live in the freedom and love of Christ. Instead of disqualifying yourself from the love of Christ.
Jesus come into my life and save me from my sin. Forgive me and make me new, I know that I am loved and accepted by you. Today would you become the Lord of my life so that I can live in Your freedom.
