And also, “If the righteous are barely saved, what will happen to godless sinners?” So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you. 1 Peter4:18-19 (NLT)
It’s not even our righteousness that saves us, but the righteousness of Christ that lives within us. These two verses make me realize how great our God is. I’m barely saved, but at the same time completely saved because of Christ. He has set up camp in my life and made His dwelling place within my heart. Not by force, but because I asked Him to. Even as we choose Christ, He is not pushy but has given us free will and the opportunity to live for Him day in and day out.
As I continue to live to please God, I may suffer for doing what is right, but because God created me, He will never fail me. I think we all needed to that today. God will never fail you. In this world, there will be death, destruction, and disaster, but God will never leave you and never forsake you. We may not understand the pain or disappointment we face, but God will never fail us. The world will fail us, but God never will. God isn’t like the world so we can’t compare Him to it. We admire His creation but only call one name Most High, and that’s Jesus. God’s love will always pursue us in the midst of death, destruction, and disaster.
He doesn’t leave or abandon you, and He would not hurt something He has created to be apart of His plan. You are God’s masterpiece, and He is for you. By is His will and His ways, He will never fail you.
God, I trust you today. May my actions be the evidence of my faith in you this day. Amen.
