Store Up

“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It’s important for you and I to get into the word of God. When we are constantly receiving the word of God in our hearts then we become more like God. The result is desiring the fallen sinful ways of our past less and desiring the pure and life-giving desires of God more. We will ultimately sin less because we are being made to be more like God who is sinless.

Just as the psalmist did, if we allow the word of God to be stored up in our hearts, it will be stored in the place where it will have the most influence on our lives. By the way Google's definition for stored up means to save for future use. You see it’s important for us to receive Gods word in our hearts so that some day, when trails come or your tempted to sin, we can rely on what the Lord has given to us to store away until the right time so that we can rely on Him to get us through those things. There is a saying that I think stands true about this scripture and that is “If you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready. ”

How much do you have stored up, because trials and temptations will come.

How often do you read the Bible? Could you read it more often?

Lord Jesus, help me to store your Word in my heart so that I will be to stand strong and live to please you and not my sinful nature. Amen
