For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. -Matthew 18:20 (NIV)
How often do we go to a retreat, a camp, a lock-in, and say, “God was moving?” Not enough, I must say. We live for the next big event to experience God. We live to experience God, instead of living experiencing God. We anticipate the presences of God when God is always present.
I long to hear more of my friends say, “I was reading in Psalms, and I felt like God was speaking to me.” It would be amazing if more of the people we know and love said on Thursday afternoon, “I had a special prayer time this morning.” I think we wait to have people tell us that they have been experiencing God when we could be the ones starting those conversations.
Do you desire to experience more of God? Let’s start talking about Him and not wait for someone else to say something. We experience God not just at events, but in every conversation we allow Him to be a part of.
Lord, give me the boldness to make you the topic of discussion amongst my friends today. May we all experience you more. Amen.
