And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14 (ESV)
I traveled to isolation, and you were there.
I needed comfort, and I found you in those serving you.
I wanted pleasure, and I sinned against you, but you were still there.
I cussed, screamed, cried, and embarrassed myself and God, and you were still there.
I ventured from place to place and person to person looking for peace, and all I had to do was turn to you.
Lockers are slamming, your friends are laughing, others are stirring trouble, and you smile, but you feel alone. You are an expert at hiding pain, but something has to change. The thought of another day makes you want to give up even more.
Hear the words of the Lord. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is always with you. Ask Him to make himself real to you and watch how He shows up in your life. Look for him in a friend, in this devotional, in your pastor, and in His word. Finding peace is never that far away.
Call on the name of Jesus and receive peace by trusting in Him.
Jesus, I need you. Please, Holy Spirit bring peace into my life. Amen.
