But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. -Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
Have you ever closed your eyes and prayed that when you opened them you would be in a different place? There are some experiences in life that leave us wishing we could start over or pick up and move our lives somewhere else. We spend a significant amount of time running from what God has called us to. It's not that He is the cause of the difficult time, but He desires to use the hard times to display His glory from within us. His internal work within us is seen externally by those around us by the evidence of the fruits of the Spirit.
You can look at what seems hopeless and have hope because of Christ. People can try and take your peace, but they can't take the peace that God has left for all of us. This world can beat up your pride, but they can't take the joy of Christ from you. Pride is something that should die anyway. Today isn't as bad as it seems, but we have to look beyond the surface. Trust the words of God before you believe the lies of this world.
Lord help me believe in who you have made me to be. Amen.
